History of the club

The Parapendio Club Gherdëina was founded on 21 September 1987 in Ortisei, through the initiative of a group of free-flight enthusiasts who wanted to share and develop a discipline that was still in its early days.

The founding members — Andreas Comploj, Rubon Maria Moroder, Filip Josef Maria Moroder, Franco Stuffer and Bean Stuflesser — combined their experience and passion for the mountains with the goal of creating a non-profit association dedicated to promoting paragliding and related sporting activities.

Since its foundation, the club has served as a point of reference for pilots and enthusiasts, organizing sporting activities, events, gatherings and social moments, helping to spread the culture of free flight in Val Gardena.

Built on a spirit of community, participation and volunteer work, the Parapendio Club Gherdëina still represents today a community united by a passion for flying, respect for the mountains and the desire to share the unique experience of flight.
